Peer Consultation / Group Supervision

Looking for a forum to informally meet with peers and colleagues to discuss clinical and practice issues, in a supportive and confidential setting?

If you work in private practice and would like to interact with colleagues to avoid the isolation that can come from private practice, then peer consultation would be helpful to you. Being a psychologist in private practice can be intense and complex so being able to share challenges and solutions regarding clinical issues can facilitate professional growth and improve client outcomes.

Our peer consultation group provides:

  • A confidential, informal and relaxed space

  • A non judgemental approach where peers work together for mutual benefit

  • Group members with a wide range of experience and theoretical orientations

  • A wide range of clinical issues including case management, diagnosis and assessment, treatment models and therapeutic considerations

  • Critical feedback, challenge, and supportive feedback that facilitates the examination and evaluation on one’s own practice

  • An opportunity to increase ones capacity for assessing your own skills and for structuring your own professional growth

  • Increased self-confidence, self-direction, and independence from openly discussing difficult cases where colleagues have provided feedback, opinion and suggestions

  • A space for reflection on ethical concerns, balancing competing demands and professional issues

  • A relatively small group (6 – 8 psychologists so that each practitioner has the opportunity to discuss their own cases and to contribute to other cases being presented

  • 2 hour monthly meetings
