RELATIONSHIPS ARE AN IMPORTANT ASPECT OF LIFE. THEY CAN PROVIDE SUPPORT, LOVE, PLEASURE, COMFORT AND MANY OTHER WONDERFUL THINGS - BUT THEY CAN ALSO CAUSE DISTRESS, DISAPPOINTMENT AND FRUSTRATION

We used to….

Talk for hours and listen to each other’s innermost dreams, thoughts and feelings so that we felt deeply connected and tuned in like soulmates.

Play, be silly, have private jokes and laugh a whole lot.

Admire each other and say so, letting each other know how we feel about them.

Be kind, encouraging and respectful, cutting each other some slack when we stuffed up.

Trust each other to have our back.

Offer little acts of kindness and show gratitude for them.

Share feelings of warmth, closeness and intimacy.

... and now we end up …

feeling so cut off, shut down and lonely.

not resolving issues, and the bad feelings linger on until the next time.

too busy to really talk to each other. Life has gotten in the way, and we haven’t made time.

not sharing much, and don’t encourage each other to share.

feeling as if we don't know each other anymore.
